    Kevin says:

    re: in general:

I am sorry, but has a lot of issues pulling photos from the photostream on Flickr. If they are not public on Flickr, they won't show. And after changing them, they still sometimes won't show. I am sorry I don't have a better answer. But this is about Yahoo! Photos, so

To follow up on something from before- if you had attachments in your Yahoo! Mail account that shows in the 'My Photos' section there, those do not get migrated as part of Yahoo! Photos.

Also- the notifications of Y! Photos closing went to everyone who ever visited Y! Photos while logged in, even if you never created an account to go with it. Many people will understandably think that they have photos in that instance. (I would have, I know that.) But not everyone who got the email has content in their Photos account.

mscoonzy, tmk, JustKenneth (or rather, your wife)- the above may answer your situations. mscoonzy, tmk as I check the count for your Y! Photos account, there is no content there.

@nebr_mom- I only have limited ability to answer questions on anything that isn't showing directly on Flickr. That said, I am not sure which site you are referring to- if it is , check my first paragraph. If you have a Y! Photos module still running on , you may need to remove it; I don't know exactly.

@jus_2_sweet00, bkfrogma, alisonkemper- the photos are queued currently, and are awaiting their turn.

@alissas- there were 5 in that Yahoo! Photos account, which is what transferred.

@ahammer there were 8 over there.

@kjr & nance those were in the process of being added to your account when I checked last, they might be there right now.

@reggaecowboy those were what were in your Y! Photos account.

@smf I sent you a note regarding your sets- check that if you can.

    Regarding Yahoo Profiles photos:

"When will this be integrated into Flickr????"

Sorry, I don't know of any plans to do so.

@scrappy_donna- the Y! ID associated with the account you have did not have any associated photos, so there was no migration. You might check another Yahoo! ID in this instance.

@kjr unfortunately your account migration has still not finished. Some accounts are unable to complete fully until the Yahoo! Photos engineers working on this project fix are able to fix some of these issues.

There are at least half-a-dozen of your photos showing publicly on Flickr now. Consider putting them into Sets (Albums) as you can manipulate them more in the Organizr then.

There are many of your photos already showing publicly - more than a hundred at least. Several Album/Sets. The fact that you're not showing as "pro" may indicate the process hasn't completed yet. You may want to consider your privacy settings.
    I'm learning too.

@cajunview- they should be importing (or done) now. (Update- we traded some emails, so it looks like you see them now.)

@xblowfishx- I don't see anything associated with the Yahoo! account that is tied to your Flickr account. Do you have another Y!ID? If so, please try logging out completely, and logging back into Flickr to see if you have an account with it.

@hemang- we just tried the process again, but you'll probably get the "arrived!" email again but nothing imported. So, this is something we have to fix

@photofixation- there is no option to email you actual files to yourself.

@pink_jumper you sent them to a different Flickr account associated with another Yahoo! ID. I just gave you details off-forum.

I was one of the many who changed to Flickr when Yahoo! Photos closed down. I have been enjoying the good quality and unlimited amounts ofphotos I was able to upload in Yahoo. However, I noticed that my pro account expires in about a month. What will happen to the thousands of photos and many sets I have created if I do not renew? Will I still be able to upload new unlimited photos? Will my existing photos be deleted or 'hidden'? Thank you for taking time to read and hopefully reply.
Posted ages ago. ( permalink )

    Dr. Keats says:

If you don't renew, only the most recently uploaded phohos will be visible. The rest will be hidden (but they'll still be there). If you upload new photos, they'll be visible; each new one will hide the current oldest one. Pretty sure only three sets will be visible.

I "told" yahoo photos to move all my images to flickr yesterday. I got a confirmation email that the process had begun, and 19 photos were immediately transferred. Since then, nadawhich makes me suspicious. Does the migration process go on intermittently over a long period of time? Yeah, the FAQ says to wait a week, but I want to understand how this thing works.

Also, I read that we were entitled to a "upgraded" account for 3 months. How does that work? Does the software know when I've transferred too many images for the free account?

Sooo about the old duplicate problem.. I reported it like a month or two back. And it seems like some staff member finally took care of my case. Just not in whole :-(.

When I looked at my account in terms of sets, I still saw a lot of "duplicate" sets, which share the same name and mostly same content, except one of each pair might contain more photos than the other.

When I looked at my account in terms of photos, I saw a lot of duplicate photos as well. However, in most pairs, one would be public and the other private. I guess it's because I followed the directions to make all my photos public after I transferred.

    This is very upsetting!

    Here was my original post:

I had a yahoo photo album and I transferred all my pictures over to here when that closed down. Well, they never made it and as soon as I migrated them, my yahoo account was no longer accessible. I e-mailed Flickr and they wrote me a very long e-mail telling me where to find them-- which would have been very helpful if they were actually there! ;-) I wrote them back saying that were not, in fact, there. I have gotten no help from Yahoo, despite searching forums and having one-directional email with( at least theoretical) human beings in the help site. The first said he couldn't find my photo page, and then didn't respond when I sent him the direct link. The second directed me once more to the closed loop page. Aaargh.

If there is anyone who could tell me if there is some way to get around the photo migration lockdown, I would be forever in your debt.

I'd love to move my photos, but I am getting no results from the recommended link, and I totally lack the time to do them one at a cromwellpsi.com in advance!

Well, I finally tracked this one down myself. It looks like my usual yahoo account is a different one from the one I used to upload the photos-- and apparently yahoo is unable to figure out that I'm the same person.

Ergo, I now also have two accounts on flickr as well(it couldn't cope with signing me in as another user even with passwords. Very inefficient, but whatever), but at least I know where my photos will be when they migrate through someday.

SO-- for anyone who can't seem to access the migration screen-- check the url of your photos page, and check the name you're signed into yahoo under-- they may be different. if so, you'll have to figure out how to sign back in as your alter ego in order to access the migration screen, but once you do that, you'll be able to transfer photos just like everyone else. Good luck-- I hope someone out there can benefit from my floundering! (PS-- I'm really lizjonesbooks above)

@arslan_ibn_da'ud- it turns out the apostrophe was a fly in the ointment, we got that fixed and the photos are queued to move now. Sorry about that!

@ByInvitationOnly - I'll try an untangle your case, I'll send a note to you directly.

@yawndave- Actually transferred, I just sent you information on how to filter them out in your photostream (it's also noted at the top of this page if anyone is curious).

@maialsouz- we only show 5 photos that were in that Y! Photos account. If you have another Yahoo! ID, you'll need to start the process to transfer those as well separately. If they were part of your Yahoo! Mail section of "My Photos", that is not part of this process at all.

@James J Williams- we checked photo descriptions and they did match what was transferred over.

@sford sorry about that, I found your help case, and just responded, I think we got this going for you again.

@candyafter6- I just sent a help note to you- they are in queue.

@Lila, I'm pretty sure we did that for you already. :-\

@kjr per the email we just sent you, they are indeed in your account. Try checking out this FAQ:
    cromwellpsi.com#

@barbtaub- your Y! photos account does not look like it has any photos in it. Everyone who visited Y! Photos while logged in got that email that Photos was closing, even if none were in there. If you have another Y! ID, check that as well; otherwise we have to refer you to Photos Customer Care if you still think there are some in there.

Need Gallery help? Try the new community support forum: cromwellpsi.com

The Gallery team has decided to take a step back from actively maintaining this project. Truth be told, most of the core team got busy with their lives over the past few years and we haven't had the time to really actively maintain the project in a long time. The forums have continued to be lively and helpful and there is still plenty of good conversation there - but no new code has been written in the past 6 months and that's not likely to change.

So after over 14 years, 3 major revisions of the project, many tens of releases, hundreds of contributors, tens of thousands of lines of code, almost a hundred thousand forum topics and almost four hundred thousand comments, it's time for us to shutter up shop.

Why not just leave the site up and operational? Unfortunately - it takes time to actively maintain and police our site. The Gallery website is constantly under attack by spammers and our servers require maintenance. We've been doing that for years, but it's time to call it quits.

So what's next? Sometime soon we'll make the website read only. All the forum posts and topics will still be there, but we'll stop letting people log in and add new content. This will greatly prevent the spread of spam through the site while still allowing search engines to find useful content. Then we'll put the whole site into a very low-overhead maintenance mode until we run out of money to keep it up. Then we'll shut the site down.

While the site is hibernating, some systems will continue to work. You'll be able to download translations for Gallery 3, for example. But at some point we'll stop accepting translation uploads. And when we run out of money, translations will go away. Sorry about that.

It's been a great ride. I'm glad that you could join us with it. But now it's time to move on.

    regards,
    Bharat

PS: If you're interested in taking over the project - email me and we can talk. You need to be serious about it though because I'm not handing this over to somebody who just wants to use it for SEO purposes. My email address is easy to find. Also, I won't be reading private messages.
