Q: Where can I find my serial number?
A: If you own the disc version of Blood Bowl your serial is already stored on the disc and will be read out during the online activation process. Please ensure the original disc is in the DVD drive during the online activation. A backup is also printed on the disc itself.

 

If you own a digitally downloaded version the serial is usually provided with the billing confirmation (e.g. e-mail). Please contact your point of purchase for further information. The name of the serial is 'Blood Bowl / Code' and has the form XXXX-XXX-XXX-XXX.

 

Q: I get the error message: 'The serial number was not found in the database.'
A: The number one problem with serial numbers is mistyping. Double check the characters you have entered. To help identify each character of the serial number correctly, please see common misinterpretations:

- Digit 'Zero' and 'O' (like 'Oscar')
- Digit 'One' and 'I' (like 'India')
- Digit 'Two' and 'Z' (like 'Zulu')
- Digit 'Eight' and 'B' (like 'Bravo')
- Include all hyphen ('-') as shown in the serial number

If this does not solve your issue, please send us a picture of your serial number (which can be found on the disc or billing confirmation if you bought the game online).

To generate an unlock code yourself and activate your game manually, please click cromwellpsi.com?c= You must enter your Activation Code and your Unlock Request Code. Please note the format of the different keys, as displayed here:

Q: I get the error message: 'Too many activations on different PCs or too many reactivations on the same PC have been performed'

A: To receive your serial number (after you have downloaded and install 'Blood Bowl Dark Elves Edition'), please do the following:

  3. Click "Show Serial"

Licensing¶

Starting at version , on-premise license servers have been deprecated. Legacy documentation can be found here.

On purchase, you will receive a Serial Key which uniquely identifies your license or pool of licenses. Each individual license can be used as standalone or floating license. This means that you can choose on how to use you license pool without needing to perform extra configuration steps. For example, from a pool of 10 licenses you can use 2 as standalone licenses and the remaining as floating licenses.

Standalone Licenses¶

Standalone licenses are licenses bound to a single computer. This type of licenses are activated using a Serial Key and can be later deactivated, allowing them to be moved between computers. Internet connection is only required during the activation and deactivation process.

  • How to Activate: Go to FILE > OPTIONS > Licensing, insert the Serial Key and press ACTIVATE.
  • How to Deactivate: You must have administrator privileges in order to deactivate a license. Go to FILE > OPTIONS > Licensing and press DEACTIVATE.

Floating Licenses¶

A floating license is a license that persists only when Factory I/O is running. When Factory I/O is shutdown, the license is automatically returned to the license pool. If, for any reason, Factory I/O does not terminate properly - caused by a crash or by an intermittent Internet connection - the license will automatically return to the license pool after 10 minutes. Floating licenses require permanent Internet connection.

Floating licenses use a Share Code to grant access to the license pool. This means that only users who know the current share code are allowed to use floating licenses. At any moment, a share code can be changed by the license owner returning all floating licenses to the license pool. You have two ways of using a share code:

  1. Entering it in Factory I/O (FILE > OPTIONS > Licensing > Activate). The share code will be saved in your Windows account and used every time you start Factory I/O. Other Windows accounts won’t have access to this share code.
  2. Configure Factory I/O to use a share code at startup by including cromwellpsi.com_code = "XXX-XXX-XXX" in a file named cromwellpsi.com and placing this file in . This will allow all Windows accounts to use this share code. Learn more about cfg files here.

In order to prevent unauthorized use, a share code is encrypted when stored locally on a computer.

Licenses Management¶

You can manage your licenses under your account at cromwellpsi.com This portal displays relevant information about your licenses and allows you to change Share Codes, revoke floating licenses, see where standalone licenses have been fulfilled and so on. Note that standalone licenses cannot be revoked through this portal and must be deactivated in Factory I/O.

Revoking a floating license will remove it from the Factory I/O client using it. This operation is useful when a user leaves Factory I/O running and the license owner requires that license back in the license pool.

What is the difference between the SMS serial number and the SMS License Key?

SMS Certificate Number (CERT)
The SMS serial number or Certificate Number (CERT) is a sixteen digit number (E.g. SVR-XX-XXXX-XXXX) that identifies the SMS appliance to TippingPoint support and the Threat Management Center (TMC) website.  The CERT number can be located;

  • From the SMS client, navigate to Admin->Server Properties->Management tab
  • On the product label attached to the SMS server
  • Entering the "get sys" CLI command.


SMS License Key
The SMS License Key is a 32 digit number (E.g. XXX-XXXX-XX-XXXXX-XX-XXXXX-XXX-X) that grants your SMS server authority to manage a specific number of TippingPoint security devices. By default the SMS product includes a default license key that allows management of up to 25 devices. If you need to manage more than 25 devices, you must purchase a new license and use it to upgrade the key. Only devices managed by the SMS server count against the license key. If you unmanage or delete a device, it no longer counts against your SMS license. The SMS License Key is displayed as a string of X characters (default) or as alpha numeric characters if the key has been upgraded. This panel also indicates the number of devices that the license key allows to be managed and the number of devices the SMS is currently managing.

You can view the License Key by:

  • From the SMS client, navigate to Admin->General->SMS License Key
  • Entering the "get license" CLI command.
